About Dr. Tomlin

Dr. Tomlin, a 1995 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, first began studying acupuncture, and offering it to patients in the Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL area, in 2006. She received her acupuncture certification from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). Since that time Dr. Tomlin has furthered her interest in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine with extensive study in advanced acupuncture techniques in small animals, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy, and Tui-na (Chinese medical manipulation and massage). In 2017 Dr. Tomlin was asked to teach practical lab sessions for the Small Animal Basic Acupuncture Course at The Chi Institute of TCVM in Reddick, FL.

Dr. Tomlin continues her study of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine as she is currently working to complete her Master’s degree in TCVM, the first program of it’s kind offered in the United States.

In 2012, Dr. Tomlin established New Horizons Animal Wellness Center in order to bring these novel complementary modalities to the Bi-City area.

Additionally, in 2016 Dr.Tomlin became a CVMMP (Certified Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner - which is referred to as chiropractic in human medicine) in order to broaden the scope of treatment options available for her patients.

Over the years Dr. Tomlin has developed a cooperative relationship with local veterinary practitioners and can coordinate a treatment plan with their conventional therapies or as a sole means of treatment. Dr. Tomlin’s focus has been, and remains, the treatment of small animals through the use of TCVM, medical manipulation, and various complementary modalities as determined on an individual basis.
